The fasted way to move from employee to self employed is by way of becoming a consultant. No doubt about it. The real bonus to this is that you can dip your toe in the pool, then up to the knees and so on before diving right in.
If you are feeling the itch to find more freedom, flexibility and financial reward, I can’t urge you strongly enough to explore the ins-and-outs of becoming a consultant.
Back in September, my good friend Joe Sanock was a guest on the podcast (Episode 9). We shared our stories of how becoming a consultant brought us both personal joy in helping other people by simply sharing what we already know. There is truly no better feeling in the world. To think that you can get paid for doing what you love, while feeling the satisfaction of helping wonderful people get what they need, is beyond what most of us even hope for in this life.
Yes, it can be hard getting started, especially if you are doing this as a side gig (listen to Micheal O’Neal in Episode 8). That is why I believe in investing in both yourself and the idea of consulting before you dive in. I have learned so much from Joe, and I hope it’s okay to say he’s learned from me. His Consultant School will catapult you to feeling more confident in your decision and have you earning income much sooner than if you decide to figure this stuff out as you go along.
Check him out, he’s the real deal! His Consultant School begins in January, with some pre-session activities starting in December. I think 2016 could be a very big year!
